I am Mehmet Sultan, a humble novelist, and I have a few words of counsel for you, my readers. I wrote my books in everyday language and did not revise them.

The love of books is the most beautiful of loves and beloveds. My two books, Tosun Kral and Behçet Bey, are like lasting friends for my readers. Reading teaches wisdom; books, like friends, should be chosen well — may mine be among your finest. They are friends that never lie and never deceive.

Nothing delights, thrills, inspires, encourages, educates, enchants or entertains like a good novel. No pleasure is as inexpensive as reading, and no joy as lasting. To read a novel is to leave a harsh life behind and step into a cleaner one. A novel is a friend that never betrays you. You may forget much — but you will not forget my writing.

Even the oldest books are a new path for those who have not read them. May my novels be your finest path. A person’s worth is shown by the books they read. Remember: to live without books is to live blind, deaf and mute…

Between 2008 and 2010, while writing my novels, I raised my feelings to their highest so that I could express joy, happiness and sorrow beautifully for you, my valued readers.

I have always tried to stand with good people. If you get in touch, I will send my books free to young people and students who cannot afford them…

In the coming years, a film project based on Tosun Kral is also planned. My hope is that this story beloved by my readers will live on the screen as well.
